Innokas Medical participated in the Medica trade fair held in Düsseldorf, Germany, on 13th to 16th of November, 2017. The Medica / Compamed fair is one of the largest exhibitions in the field of medical technology. This year altogether 123,500 professionals attended the fair, and 17 fair halls were fully booked.
Among over 20 other Finnish medtech companies, Innokas participated the fair by joining the Finnish joint stand organized in cooperation between Finpro/Finland Health and BusinessOulu/OuluHealth.
“OuluHealth organized the Finnish joint stand at Medica fair this year together with Finpro. Our aim was to provide an easy and cost-efficient solution for Finnish companies to take part in Medica to demonstrate their innovations and to network with other companies in the field. From our point of view, the participation was very fruitful; altogether 11 medical and healthcare technology companies from Oulu participated the fair with us, and the feedback given after Medica week has been very positive!”, tells Heidi Tikanmäki, working as Key Account Director of Health & Life Science unit at OuluHealth.
Innokas shared its stand place in the Finnish pavilion with its Swedish customer Bonvisi AB, who was demonstrating the company’s Pump System Endo P®. Endo P® is developed for endoscopic surgery, such as transurethral treatments for prostates, bladders and removal of stones. Endo P® key features is to control liquid flow and pressure. The novel and patent protected system will increase the visibility in the operating cavity, which improves the safety and reduces the operating time, which is good from a health economic perspective. Bonvisi’s Marketing and Sales Director Anders Elf was very excited about the opportunity to participate at the fair with its cooperation partner Innokas.
“We had an opportunity to meet with both existing and new customers, which is the key objective with participating in a meeting like Medica”, he tells.
Innokas was represented at the Medica fair by Innokas’ CEO Jouni Toijala, Executive Vice President Tommi Kaasalainen, COO Pekka Patja and Account Manager Antti Tolvanen. Innokas representatives also consider that the exhibition participation was beneficial. They felt that Bonvisi’s system brought lot of positive traffic to Innokas stand location.
“Year after year, Medica offers a great overview of trends and offering in the medical field, so the days spent in Medica were really good! We see that the joint stand system Finland Health and OuluHealth organized is a really smart way to compile companies from the same country in the same pavilion to represent Finnish health technology expertise and know-how. Our stand place was located in a good spot and on the other hand, Bonvisi and their ENDO Pump System attracted many unannounced visitors”, Patja says.
Tolvanen tells that Medica brought lot of good new contacts to Innokas. He feels that especially the arrangements Innokas sales team made before the fair, as well as the matchmaking service offered by the Medica organizers, contributed to a very successful fair participation.
”The meetings we had booked beforehand brought altogether a dozen of new leads to further follow-up, so I see the arrangements we made beforehand surely contributed to a successful fair participation this year”, Tolvanen says.
Medica/Compamed will be arranged next year from 12th to 15th of November.
