Innokas Medical again participated in the Compamed Trade Fair held in Düsseldorf, Germany, on the 12th to the 14th of November, 2014. This time Innokas Medical participated in the fair at the joint stand for Finnish companies in hall 8a, stand N35.
“Once again, the fair was very interesting. This time we participated in the fair in a slightly different way than in previous years, as we were exhibiting at Finland’s joint stand along with other Finnish companies instead of having our own stand. In addition to this we used some conference rooms to arrange visits and meetings we had agreed on beforehand with our customers”, recalls Innokas Medical’s Marketing Coordinator Elina Ihme, who participated in the fair for the fifth time.
Tommi Kaasalainen, VP of Sales & Marketing at Innokas Medical, participated in the fair for the first time. Kaasalainen feels that the top trade fair in the healthcare technology sector is a very good place to form networks and become familiar with new products and innovations in the field.
“The fair is an excellent place to expand your network of contacts and become familiar with new products in the field. Medica seems to be “the place to visit” in the healthcare technology industry. There are a lot of things to see in three days, and much remains unseen because a large part of the time spent at the fair involves meeting your customers and partners”, Kaasalainen says.
Kaasalainen sees that participation in the fair was worthwhile, but emphasizes the importance of post-event work in the overall success of the fair. In addition to this, Kaasalainen wants to emphasize the stable position of the healthcare technology sector in the market, in spite of the difficult economic situation.
“We made new, good contacts at the fair, but I have to say that getting new customers was to some degree a bit challenging, as everyone seems to be in a sales mode at the fair. Therefore, it is particularly important to take your time to finish discussions started at the fair afterwards. It seems that in spite of the difficult economic situation, things are going well in the healthcare technology sector. Many of the customers and partners said the same at the fair when discussing with them. So, I expect 2015 to be a good year for our industry”, Kaasalainen says.
Compamed was arranged in conjunction with the Medica Trade Fair. Together these events form an entity that covers the entire production chain in healthcare technology, from individual components to quality systems and end products. The Medica / Compamed Trade Fair is one of the largest exhibitions in the field of medical technology. The fair attracted a large number of specialists to Düsseldorf; altogether almost 130,000 professionals attended the fair. There were altogether 5555 exhibitors at the fair this time (4831 at Medica and 724 at Compamed).
Medica will be arranged this year from the 16th to the 19th of November, 2015. This year the open hours of the Compamed Fair will be extended from the previous three exhibition days to four exhibition days, just as Medica.
