Networking and relationship building at Nordic Life Science Days -event

Innokas Medical participated in the Nordic Life Science Days -event, which was arranged at the Waterfront Congress Centre in Stockholm on September 9-10th 2015. Innokas shared the stand of Business Oulu / Oulu Health with other Finnish companies in the Finnish Pavilion. The Finnish Pavilion was organized by Innomedica Ltd. The CEO of Innomedica, Tanja Dowe, was very satisfied on the successful event.

”The exhibition and the whole event had clearly grown since last year. Especially health tech companies were much stronger represented than previously. The event was well organized, and the spirit was good – there is a clear need for this kind of Nordic event!” states Dowe.

Nordic Life Science Days is the largest Nordic matchmaking style conference in the Life Science business. The two day conference offered lectures, panel discussions and presentations of new innovations. In addition, the event was host company introductions and it offered the opportunity for face-to-face meetings and networking with colleagues, customers and investors. Kalevi Virta from OuluHealth/Oulu CHT, who participated the fair for the first time, was even a little bit surprised of the success of the event.

”There was a lot of visitors in the exhibition area throughout the fair, and the size of the event was even a little surprise for me. Our stand had a good location, but the really good meetings took place via the matchmaking service in the event. Also the conference presentations were of high quality – I think that the event was really successful”, Virta tells.

Innokas was represented at Nordic Life Science Days -event by Innokas’ Executive Vice President Tommi Kaasalainen and Account Manager Antti Tolvanen. Tolvanen thinks that the positive and active feeling of the event and the great matchmaking service contributed to a very successful event.

”The feeling at NLSD-event was really positive – I could sense that there is economic growth going on in Nordics and in the field of Life Sciences! We met tens of potential new customers, and with most of these we had good discussion about co-operation in the near future. The best element of the event was the great matchmaking service”, thinks Tolvanen.

Kaasalainen considers that the exhibition participation was beneficial, and he also endorses the matchmaking service of the event. Some discussions initiated at NLSD-event have already progressed into the offer creation phase.

“The matchmaking service proved to be a tremendous success, and the meetings we had booked in advance were very well organized during the event. Via the matchmaking service we had meetings with a number of very interesting potential customers, and some of these discussions have already progressed into the offer creation phase. I really consider that the exhibition participation was beneficial for us”, Kaasalainen tells.

This year, the event was arranged for the third time. The exhibition had 630 companies from 31 different countries, and there were total of 1939 partnering meetings scheduled during the event. The next Nordic Life Science Days -event will be arranged September 14-15th 2016 at the Waterfront Congress Centre in Stockholm.
