Innokas Medical has further reinforced its knowhow in medical device design and development. Three new resources have joined Innokas’ SW testing development team, while the teams of project managers, mechanical engineers as well as industrial designers have grown by one new resource for each team during the beginning of this year.
Martti Karjalainen (M.Sc., Mechanical Engineering), started to work as Project Manager in Innokas design services business unit at Innokas Kempele office in February. Karjalainen came to work at Innokas from Promeco Group, where he was holding the Project Manager title and leading the company’s project business unit. His main responsibilities there were developing and implementing projects as well as taking care of the quality assurance of the projects. Before Promeco Group, he has worked e.g. at Optomed as Regulatory Affairs Specialist, at Polar Electro as NPI Leader and Project Manager and at Nokia as Production Engineer and Project Manager. Karjalainen says he has enjoyed working at Innokas very much. He especially looks forward on the new, interesting product development projects he is able to work with in the future with new colleagues and customers.
“It’s very meaningful to me that the devices we develop and manufacture produce tangible benefits for both medical staff and patients. That’s why it was a logical choice for me to apply the open project manager position at Innokas earlier this year. I think I’m able to exploit my earlier experience for my new position at Innokas; as well as to develop my product development and project management skills even further through the new challenges this new position will offer me. I’ve enjoyed working at Innokas very much, and the working community at Innokas is very inspiring and knowledgeable. I believe I’m able to work with different kind of interesting and challenging new projects in the future”, Karjalainen says.
New talents in SW testing team, too
The software is becoming more and more important part of medical devices in the future. That’s why it is very crucial for the companies working in the field to be able to develop even more complex and easy-to-maintain and -test software, which meets the growing regulatory requirements as well as our customers’ needs. Innokas has now recruited new talents to reinforce its in-house software testing and testing development knowhow.
Haitham Habli (M.Sc., Electrical Engineering), Laura Jukola, who is finalizing her Master’s Thesis in Aalto University, and Asko Veteläinen (B.Sc., Information Technology) have started working in Innokas SW testing team during this year. Jukola works in manual software testing and Habli works as SW Testing Engineer in product development, both of them work in customer projects. Veteläinen has joined the VC150 patient monitor SW testing development team as Senior Engineer in SW Testing.
“As the software and mobile technologies are becoming more important part of medical devices, we have continuously strengthened our knowhow and expertise within software at Innokas. We have, for example, educated our own experts even further, as well as recruited new professionals. We will actively keep our eyes open to find new talents, too”, tells Innokas Medical’s Engineering Manager Jenni Tuulos.
In addition to new resources in project management and SW testing teams, Juho Laasanen (M.Sc., Mechanical Engineering) and Sanna Tuononen (Master of Art & Bachelor of Healthcare) have joined Innokas Medical’s engineering team, too. Laasanen has started as Mechanical Engineer and Tuononen as Industrial Designer in Innokas design services business unit at Innokas Helsinki office.
